Basketball player Orietta Grossi played for FIAT Torino. In the 1979-80 season, with coach Bruno Arrigoni, she won the Italian title and the European Champions Cup, beating Mineur Pernik 75-66 in the final. During her career, Grossi also played with Algida Roma, Stelle Marine Ostia, and Bari Puglia.
With the Italy squad she played a total of 25 matches, including the 1980 Moskva (Moscow) Olympics. After her playing years, she was a youth coach and mini basketball instructor.
