Biography

Kristin Klein played college volleyball at Stanford where she was a four-time All-American and in her senior year was named the NCAA women’s volleyball player-of-the-year. Klein joined the US National Team in 1991 and played at the 1991 Pan American Games and the Universiade, winning a bronze medal at the latter tournament.

Klein was an outside hitter who played for the USA at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. Internationally she also won a gold medal at the 1995 World Grand Prix and silver medals at the 1995 Pan American Games and the 1993 NORCECA Zone Championships. She also competed at the 1994 World Championships.

Klein married Adam Keefe, a Stanford basketball player who played in the NBA for nine years, mostly with the Utah Jazz. They were both inducted into the Stanford Athletic Hall of Fame in 2000. Their two daughters, Caitlin and Michaela, also played volleyball at Stanford.
