Biography

Weightlifter Hans Valla finished sixth at the 1936 Berlin Olympics in the middleweight division. The following year he won the bronze medal at the World Championships.

Domestically, Valla represented Teutoburger AC Wien (Vienna) and won the national title in 1933 and 1934. After the Nazi German “Anschluss” he was forced to represent Germany and won the German title in 1940 and 1941.
