Biography

A multiple Albanian national champion in heavyweight, freestyle wrestling, Shkëlqim Troplini represented his country in that event at the 1995 European Championships, where he placed eighth. His next stop was the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, where he lost his first-round bout against Canadian Oleg Ladik, as well as his classification round match against Davud Məhəmmədov of Azerbaijan to place joint-18th overall, with Australia’s Ben Vincent. Following his retirement from active competition, he turned to coaching at the club level. His son Rejnaldo is a professional football player.
