Biography

Austrian wrestler Bartholomäus Brötzner, son of Bartl Brötzner, was a participant in the 1980 Moskva (Moscow) Olympics. He competed in the welterweight freestyle event and was eliminated in the second round after losses to the Bulgarian eventual gold medallist Valentin Raychev and the Romanian Marin Pîrcălabu. Brötzner, who won 11 Austrian national titles, came from a farming family from Wals and became an agricultural machinery technician. He also turned to wrestling coaching.
