Austrian middleweight Greco-Roman wrestler Georg, brother of Anton Marchl, participated in the 1983 World Championships (14th) and the 1984 European Championships (seventh), and at the 1984 Summer Olympics was eliminated in the preliminary round. Marchl won 19 Austrian national titles. He and his wife Birgit later ran a carpentry and interior design business in the municipality of Wals-Siezenheim.
