Biography

Austrian wrestler Alois Totušek qualified for the 1912 Olympics. He finished second to Peter Kokotowitsch in the middleweight A class at the selection competition held in Vienna (Apollo-Säle) on 9 June 1912. At the Stockholm Games, he was eliminated in the fourth round of the Greco-Roman middleweight class.

At the 1908 World Championships, Totušek won the silver medal, beaten only by his non-Olympian compatriot Robert Dirry, and the following year he won the gold medal ahead of Dirry. At the 1910 Unofficial World Championships, he again won ahead Dirry. In 1911, Totušek placed fourth at the unofficial worlds, and in 1914 added a silver medal at the Unofficial European Championships.
