Biography

Ivan Bisson was an Italian basketball player. A small forward, Bisson began to play with Udine before moving to Pallacanestro Varese where he won five Italian titles (1971, 1973-74, 1977-78), two Italian cups (1971, 1973), four European Cups (1972-73, 1975-76), and two Intercontinental Cups (1970, 1973).

Bisson débuted with the national team on 4 September 1969 at Napoli against Austria and played his last international match on 27 July 1976 at the Montréal Olympics against Czechoslovakia. He collected 153 caps, scoring 1,219 points. At the European Championships he won two bronze medals at Essen (1971) and Beograd (1975). Bisson’s best scoring game internationally was when he totaled 26 points on 3 September 1972 against the Philippines during the Olympic tournament. In February 2016 he was inducted into the Italian Basketball Federation Hall of Fame.
