Biography

Spanish wrestler Ignacio Ordóñez competed internationally in both freestyle and sambo events. In sambo Ordóñez won the national title on several occasions, with him also becoming the Spanish freestyle wrestling champion in 1984. The same year he finished seventh in the 74.0 kg freestyle at the European Championships and represented Spain at the Los Angeles Olympics. At the Games he lost his opening bout to Selahattin Sağan (TUR), before losing to the eventual bronze medallist Šaban Sejdi (YUG) to be eliminated.
