Biography

Ville Lehmusvirta’s first success came at the 1911 unofficial World Championship in Helsinki, where he placed third in the 60 kg category. One year later, placed second at the Finnish Championships in the 66.5 kg class, the lowermost weight category in Finland at the time. He was selected to compete at the 1912 Olympic Games in the featherweight (< 60 kg). There, he advanced to round six but was eliminated by the German silver medalist Georg Gerstacker.
