Reijo Nykänen was a Finnish Greco-Roman wrestler who was active during the 1950s. Nykänen became the national champion in 1954 before defending his title the following year. In 1955 he also competed at the World Championships, where he just missed out on a medal after finishing fourth in the 52.0 kg weight class. These performances earned Nykänen a place on the Olympic team for the 1956 Games in Melbourne. After losing his opening bout to Imre Hódos (HUN), he then defeated Adolfo Díaz (ARG) before being eliminated when he lost to Francisc Horvath (ROU).
