Biography

Horst Mayer participated in two Summer Games, 1968 in Mexico City and 1972 in München. In Mexico, the bantamweight freestyle wrestler was eliminated in the second round, but in München he finished sixth. He wrestled with SC Dynamo Luckenwalde. In 1968 and 1969 he won the East German national titles as a bantamweight, and in 1973, in the featherweight class.
