Biography

Zavire Carcereri competed in the Middleweight A class of the 1912 Greco-Roman wrestling tournament. After an easy victory over the Portuguese Joaquim Vital, he lost his next two bouts against Scandinavian wrestlers and was eliminated after round three. Together with Alessandro Covre, he represented his club Scaligera Verona winning the 1910 team championship in Italy. Carcereri also excelled as a boxer seizing the (unofficial) Italian Middleweight title in January 1915 by knockout against Angelo Boniforti.
