Biography

Karl Ekman came from Vårgårda, north-east of Göteborg, and wrestled for Göteborg’s Örgryte IS, at the time, Sweden’s leading club. At the 1912 Olympic Games, he was eliminated in his first bout of the Middleweight B division by the Hungarian and future bronze medalist Béla Varga by fall after 37 min and 30 sec. In the same year 1912, Ekman took his only national title in the heavyweight.
