Gustaf Lindstrand, born in Småland, lived in Malmö and represented GAK Enighet an. In 1909, he placed seventh at the unofficial European Championships in the 82.5 kg category. At the 1912 Olympics, he wrestled in the heavyweight (> 82.5 kg) and threw the Belgian Laurent Gerstmans in round one but was eliminated after losing the next two bouts against Finnish opponents. He appeared again at the 1913 unofficial World Championship placing fourth. In 1912, he was the first chairman of the newly founded Malmö Policemen’s Gymnastics and Sports Association.
