Biography

Descending from a noble family, Galeazzo Dondi débuted with the Italian National team in a friendly on 3 May 1936 against Austria. He competed at the Berlin Olympics where the Azzurri placed seventh. In the match against Germany, the Azzurri scored 58 points, its best at Berlin. Dondi earned 14 international caps, scoring 21 points.

Dondi won two Italian titles with Virtus Bologna (1946-47) and one year later also coached the team. Dondi became a doctor but remained in the executive management of Virtus for the 1950s and 60s and was President from 1961-66.
