Biography

Anatoly Bykov took up wrestling in 1967 and made the Soviet national team in 1974. Bykov, who competed as a Greco-Roman welterweight for his entire career, won 1976 Olympic gold, added silver in 1980, was 1975 World Champion, and captured silver at the 1978 European Championships. He also competed at the 1977 World Championships, placing fourth. At the Soviet Championships, Bykov won two titles (1975, 1980). After finishing his sporting career, Bykov worked as a wresting coach.
