Biography

Frank Maichle wrestled light-heavyweight Greco-Roman at the 1920 Antwerpen Olympics. Maichle attended the US Naval Academy, and was an ensign at Guantanamo Bay in 1920. He served in the Navy for several years but then settled near Chicago, where he worked for the US Gypsum Company. Maichle was born in Cohocton, New York, and died in his hometown of Kenilworth, Illinois, near Chicago, but he was buried in the Cohocton Old Catholic Cemetery.
