Biography

Oral Swigart attended the US Naval Academy in Annapolis where he captained the wrestling team in his junior and senior years. He became a career Navy officer, eventually reaching the rank of Rear Admiral. For valor during his service, Swigart earned the Bronze Star and the Legion of Merit Combat Badge. His so, Oral, Jr., also became a career Naval officer, and distinguished himself for his service during the Korean War.
