Biography

At 6-10 (2.08), Marc Freiberger was the tallest of four brothers, all of whom were at least 6-8 (2.03) tall. Backed by those genes, he had a distinguished career as a center at the University of Oklahoma, graduating in 1951. After graduation he joined the Peoria Caterpillars of the AAU leagues and played with them for two years, during which time he qualified for the 1952 Olympics. He left Peoria in 1953 to play with the Ada Oil Company team in 1954-55 before retiring from competitive basketball. Freiberger started his business career in Peoria but later left that company to become a manufacturer’s rep for machinery sales.
