A prominent businessman in his home country David Kelly represented the Bahamas in two Olympic Games and two world championships in the Dragon and Star classes. Starting with a single shop in Nassau he created a multi million dollar hardware business in the Bahamas. In 2008 he was awarded the title of Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) by Queen Elizabeth II.
