Viktor Markov joined the Imperial Yacht Club in St. Petersburg in 1904. He owned up to three yachts including the American built Rodchester, the Ptashka (Bird) and – until 1912 – the Skazka (Fairy Tale). The two latter ones were designed by Yevgeny Kun and Markov co-owned the Skazka with Vyacheslav Kuzmichev and Kun.
