Biography

Like his father and his brother Harald, Eric Sandberg started a commercial career as a clerk. He won his first Olympic medal in silver in 1908 in the 8 metres class with the Swedish yacht Vinga, skippered by Carl Hellström, coming from behind by winning the last of three races. At the 1912 Olympic Games in Stockholm Sandberg won bronze in the 6 metres class as a crew member of the yacht Kerstin. They prevailed in the match race for third place against the Sass, also from Sweden.
