Biography

Sailor Bruno Splieth sailed at two Olympic Games for the Unified German team. In 1960 at the Roma Olympics he finished seventh together with Eckart Wagner in the Star class, in 1964 Splieth placed sixth together with Karsten Meyer. Meyer also replaced Wagner in some of the 1960 races, when Wagner was ill. Splieth was also a substitute in 1952 in the 5.5 metres. He won the Kieler Woche in the Star class several times. By profession, Splieth was the rig master at Kieler Yacht-Club.
