Erik Ørvig was a Norwegian sailor who represented Bergens Seilforening during the interwar period. In 1920 Ørvig was part of the crew that sailed in the yacht Heira II in the 12 metres class at the Antwerpen Olympics. In a bizarre event, only the Norwegian yacht took part, sailing a race per day for three days to win gold. The nine-man crew also featured Erik’s brothers Olaf and Thor.
