Victor Aitken was an Australian long-distance runner and racewalker who represented the Coburg Harriers in Melbourne. In 1905 Aitken finished second in a ten-mile walking race before winning the one-mile walking championship of Victoria the following year. In 1907 he had multiple successes in cross-country running races, finishing second in the five-mile race of Victoria, winning the seven-mile open handicap at Heidelberg in a course record time, and winning the 10-mile race of Victoria. In February 1908 Aitken was selected to run in the marathon at the London Olympics. He was in good form for most of the race but was forced to abandon the race after 22 miles due to fatigue. After the Olympics he continued to compete in multiple cross-country races in Victoria.
