Description

In 1908 and 1912 Australia and New Zealand competed as one nation at the Olympic Games, termed Australasia. The two nations worked together in sports on other occassions as well, competing as Australasia at the Davis Cup in tennis from 1905-15, and the Amateur Athletic Union of Australia and New Zealand existed until 1928. Geographically, Australasia now is considered to consist of Australia, New Zealand, New Guinea, and a few neighboring islands in the Pacific Ocean.
