Sprinter Christoph Pöstinger had was the son of an Austrian mother and a Ugandan father. He was Austrian champion in 100 metres (1992), 200 metres (1992, 1997), and 4×100 metres relay (1999). He qualified for the 1992 Barcelona and 1996 Atlanta Summer Olympics. Pöstinger placed seventh with the 4x100 metres relay and was eliminated in the second round of the 200 metres at Barcelona. Four years later the relay squad was eliminated in the heats, and he failed to advance to the second round of the individual 200 metres.
Pöstinger later became a state-certified athletics coach and a state association referee. By profession, he was head of industrial management at the University of Applied Sciences Wiener (Vienna) Neustadt.
