Biography

Hermann Tunner was a multiple Austrian champion, winning the long jump (1941), shot put (1941-42), discus throw (1940-42, 1947-51, 1953-55), and decathlon (1937) titles. He finished 11th at the 1948 London Olympics in the discus. Tunner was also selected for the 1952 Helsinki Games but did not start for unknown reasons. During the “Anschluss” of Austria to the German Reich, he finished in third at the 1939 German Championships.

Personal Best: DT – 49.53 (1939).
