Biography

Jenny Toitgans was a discus thrower who competed for Belgium at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics. She was the daughter of Jules Henri Jean Toitgans (1877-1949) and Marie Louise Antoinette Beaudrihaye (1873-1964) and Jenny married Philibert Smellinckx (1911-77) in August 1943. They had three children, Fernand Henri Jean, Marguerite Micheline, and Gilberte Raymonde Gabrielle.

Jenny Toitgans ran the confectionary department at Union Economique, a cooperative society in Bruxelles. She was the godmother of Jenny Op de Beek.

Personal Best: DT – 33.79 (1932).
