Biography

James Dellow was a Canadian long-distance runner who represented the Gladstone Athletic Club. In the early 1910s Dellow ran in several distance races at the local fair in Parkhill, Ontario, often with his older brother William. By 1913 they had moved to Toronto with William now training his younger brother. In 1920 James held the honour of being the fastest marathon runner in the British Empire and was selected to run at the 1920 Antwerpen Games where he finished 13th. In 1922 Dellow won the 12 miles modified marathon race at the Canadian National Exhibition meet in Toronto.
