Biography

Cuban track and field athlete Ramón López specialised in the triple jump and won multiple medals at international competitions in the 1960s. López was part of the Cuban delegation at the 1960 Roma Olympics but finished a disappointing 33rd with a best effort of 14.53 metres. A month later, at the Ibero-American Games in Santiago, Chile, he won silver when he jumped 15.06 metres, with the great Adhemar da Silva winning gold. Lopez followed this with silver at the 1962 Central American and Caribbean Games and silver at the 1963 Pan American Games.

Personal Best: TJ – 15.58 (1964).
