Juan Serrahima followed in his father’s footsteps by entering the legal profession as a lawyer in Barcelona. Serrahima earned his doctorate in law while competing in track and field athletics as a sprinter. In 1928 he was the champion of Catalonia in the 100 metres, in addition to winning silver in the 100 and 200 metres at the Spanish championships. This earned him a place on the Spanish Olympic team for the 1928 Amsterdam Games where he ran in both sprint races and the 4 × 100 metres relay. The following year Serrahima was the Spanish champion in the 100 metres and the 4 × 100 metres relay, going on to retain his relay title in 1930. In 1934 he was made the coach of the Catalan Athletics Federation and later became the leader of the organisation. Serrahima died in October 1959, with the Joan Serrahima Municipal Stadium built a decade later in Barcelona in his honour.
Personal Bests: 100 – 11.4 (1928); 200 – 23.0s (1929).
