Biography

Anni Rättyä was a Finnish track and field athlete who represented Nivalan Urheilijat. Rättyä specialised in the javelin throw and won bronze at the Finnish athletics championships in 1952. Her performance earned her a place at her home Olympics in Helsinki later that year where she finished 14th. The following year she set a national record with a throw of 45.27 metres. In her later life Rättyä wrote poetry and had several books published in the 1990s.
