Biography

Meeri Saari competed in the shot put at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics, finishing eighth. She was Finnish Champion for eight straight years, from 1948-55, also winning the discus title in 1948. She competed in four internationals. Saari set four Finnish records, her final one coming at the Olympics. Her husband, Leo Veisto, was a useful javelin thrower.

Personal Best: SP – 13.02 (1952).
