Biography

Finnish track and field athlete Risto Kuntsi represented Vaasan Vasama where he specialised in the shot put. Kuntsi was the national champion in the event in 1934, along with winning silver (1933, 1935–37, 1940) and bronze (1942–43). He won silver at the 1934 European Athletics Championships in Torino even though he and Arnold Viiding both threw 15.19 metres, with Viiding winning gold. Kuntsi finished 13th at the 1936 Berlin Olympics with a best throw of 14.61 metres.

Personal Best: SP – 15.65 (1935).
