Biography

Chilo won four caps as a full-back and winger for the French national rugby team between 1920 and 1925. He was a member of the Toulouse team that won the French club championships in 1922. In addition, he played in the colors of the Racing Club de France, SCUF, and eventually AS Française as fullback or wing three-quarter. He played four more games with the national team, the first in 1920 against Scotland. During the 1940s he also coached the national team. As a triple jumper Chilo missed the final at the Antwerpen Olympics, placing only 17th after winning the French title by setting a national record in 1919. In the 1970s he became founding president of the Basque rugby club Avenir de Barcus.
