Known as “The Iceman”, Australian sportsman Darryl Pearce played in 374 games in the National Basketball League (NBL) from 1982 until 1995. Pearce began his career with the Adelaide 36ers, winning the NBL championship with the team in 1986. After leaving the club in 1991 he then played for the North Melbourne Giants from 1992 to 1995, winning a second NBL championship in 1994. Pearce was known for his remarkable three-point field goal success, finishing his career at 41.9%. During the 1980s he also played for the Australian national team and represented them at the 1986 FIBA World Championship and the 1988 Seoul Olympics, finishing fourth at the latter. In 2002 he was inducted into the Australian Basketball Hall of Fame.
