Biography

Jean Maissant was a discus thrower who competed at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics. He made the final round, finishing 17th. Maissant was a long-time member of Stade Français. He was capped 21 times for France and won the French national title in the discus in 1951-52. During World War II Maissant joined the French Liberation Army at age 18 and fought in the resistance against Germany.
