Biography

The athletics career of Ann Jenner appears to be a short one and centred around the 1960 season. She won the Hertfordshire County WAAA 100- and 220-yards titles and was then selected for the Roma Olympics. Selected for both the 100 metres and 4 x 100 relay, she did not take part in the latter but did reach the second round of the 100 metres, before being eliminated after finishing sixth (out of seven) in her quarter-final.

Jenner announced her retirement shortly after the Olympics in advance of her forthcoming marriage. Aged just 19 at the time, she married RAF Pilot Officer Tony Ewer on Christmas Eve 1960 to round off a memorable year.

Personal Best: 100 – 11.8 (1960).
