Biography

Roy Hollingsworth was a discus thrower who placed 10th at the 1964 Olympics and was seventh at the 1963 Commonwealth Games, where he also placed 14th in the shot put. He competed in those events for Great Britain and England, but switched allegiance to Trinidad & Tobago, competing for them at the 1966 Commonwealth Games, where he finished fifth in the discus and seventh in the shot put. Hollingsworth was 1964 AAA Champion. At the 1966 Central American and Caribbean Games, Hollingsworth won the discus and placed second in the shot. He also set two British discus records in 1963, leaving it at 56.71. He later became Sports Director at the University of the West Indies in St. Augustine.
