Biography

The son of a Scottish-born plumber, William Watt was four times runner-up in the long jump at the Ireland Amateur Athletic Association Championships, losing to Tim Ahearne in 1908 and 1909, to Tom Maguire in 1910 and Percy Kirwan in 1911. He took part in the annual Ireland v Scotland match three times in 1908-09 and 1911. Like his father, Watt also became a Plumber.
