Biography

Sigrid Heimann came in seventh in the 1980 long jump at the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow. Her best international season was in 1981 when she earned a silver medal at the European Indoors, and won both the European and the World Cup. Domestically she was East German runner-up in 1980-81, and 1984, and indoors in 1981.

In documents which became public after German reunification, she was listed among the athletes who were on various doping regimens. Her daughter Anne Ulbricht became an international in handball and German Champion in 2002, 2006, 2009, and 2010 with HC Leipzig.

Personal Best: LJ – 6.89 (1981).
