Biography

East German race walker Uwe Dünkel was disqualified in the 50 km at the 1980 Moscow Olympics, which was his only international competition. Dünkel was East German Champion in the 25 km in 1981 and 1983, the 30 km in 1981-83, the 35 km in 1980-81, and the 50 km in 1980-81. In 1981 he led the annual performance list in the 50 km. His profession was as a machinery plant fitter.

Personal Best: 50kmW – 3-45:51 (1987).
