Biography

Jörg Pfeifer was a sprinter who won a silver medal with the sprint relay at the 1976 Montréal Olympics. At the 1971 European Championships he earned a bronze medal in the 200. In 1976 he set his only world record with 21.10 for the 200 metres indoor. Domestically Pfeifer won the East German 200 title in 1971. He was first educated as a primary level teacher, and later became coach at SV Dynamo Halle-Neustadt.

Personal Best: 100 – 10.2 (1971).
