Biography

West German hurdler Caren Jung was disqualified in the heats of the 100 hurdles at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. She also participated in the 1995 World Championships and the 1998 European Championships. Domestically she won two outdoor (1995, 1998) and six indoor titles (1990, 1994-95, 1997-98, and 2000). She took part in three European Indoor Championships and placed fifth in 1990, and sixth in both 1996 and 1998. In her later years Jung competed in triathlons. She married high jumper Ralf Sonn, but they later divorced and she re-married. Professionally she was educated as a graphic designer and later owned an advertising agency.

Personal Best: 100H – 12.88 (1997).
