Biography

Discus thrower Ingra Manecke finished sixth at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games. She was also nominated for the 1980 Moscow Olympic Games, but could not start due to the US-led boycott of the Western countries. IN 1978 and 1982 she participated in the European Championships, and in 1977, 1979 and 1981 in the European Cup. Domestically she won eight consecutive West German titles in 1977-84. Manecke studied medicine and eventually became a doctor of general medicine, homeopathy, sports and labor medicine.

Personal Best: DT – 67.06 (1982).
