Biography

Werner Böttcher went missing in action in World War II in 1944 at the Rozan bridgehead in Poland. He is buried on the war cemetery in Mławka, Poland. Böttcher was German champion in 1936 in the 4×1500 relay and runner-up in the 1500 meters, placing third in the same event in 1941. At the 1936 Berlin Olympics he came in twelfth over 1,500 metres.

Personal Best: 1500 – 3:55.0 (1936).
