Biography

Joachim Dehmel was a German middle-distance runner who was eliminated in the 800 metres heats at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. In 1991, he won his only individual national title over 800, and also placed second four times and third once. In 1990 and 1991 he won the German Indoor Championships. His brother Alexander was also a middle-distance runner.

Dehmel later became a managing director with excellent business development skills, and over two decades gained in-depth knowledge in the medical device industry and healthcare environment.

Personal Best: 800 – 1:44.71 (1996).
