Biography

A 400 runner, Georg Nückles was eliminated in the semifinals at the 1972 München Olympics. At the 1972 European Indoors he won a gold medal in the 400 and a silver medal with the 4x2 laps relay. In West Germany Nückles won the following titles: 400 in 1972, 400 indoor in 1972-73, 400 hurdles in 1973, 4x400 relay in 1974, and 4x400 indoor relay in 1975. Nückles studied mechanical engineering and lived and worked from 1976-79 in Singapore. He later collected motorcycles and favored BMWs.

Personal Best: 400 – 46.11 (1972).
